Greetings: just a few nano-seconds of info re Chicago and Washington
- You can still register for the ISP 10th Year Dinner in Chicago during the APM of CSWE on Feb. 18, 2006, Saturday at 6-9 PM. Gala program, pre-dinner reception, speaker from IL legislature with MSW, awards to PhD and BSW and MSW ISP contest winners, memories and look to the future. Please email me your reservations no later than Feb. 13...$35@....and I will send you all the details.
- If you can bring any quality items for the ISP Silent Auction in Chicago....or want to send them to me before Feb. 13, please do so. Weekends at your summer place, tickets to events, tours, jewelry, international gifts, etc.....let me know. We want to make $5,000 on this auction event. Main prize: 7 day cruise on the Empress of the North on the Columbia and Snake Rivers in the NW.

Roger Wilkins is a distinguished American lawyer, educator, and writer who has committed his career to social justice and issues of racial equality. He shared the Pulitzer Prize in 1972 for Watergate coverage with Bob Woodward, Carl Bernstein, and Herblock. He has served as past chairperson of the Pulitzer Prize Board. In his distinguished journalism career, Mr. Wilkins has written for The New York Times and The Washington Post and he was an associate editor of the Washington Star. He is currently a Robinson Professor of History and American Culture at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.
Mr. Wilkins earned his law degree from the University of Michigan and during the Lyndon Johnson administration, he served as an assistant Attorney General. He is a member of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and is publisher of the NAACP's journal, Crisis. Mr. Wilkins served as past chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Africa American Institute.
His highly acclaimed autobiography, A Man's Life (1982), was reprinted in 1991. His recent book, Jefferson's Pillow: The Founding Fathers and the Dilemma of Black Patriotism, published in 2001, won the 2002 NAIBA book award for non-fiction.
- We have received nearly 100 proposals for the Policy Conference in DC through the online CFP system...thanks to all who made an entry. We are going to review them in February and let people know of their acceptance no later than March 1. Here are registration fees with an early bird opportunity (see below). Registration fees must accompany the registration form or be paid by credit card. All presenters are expected to pay registration fees upon acceptance of their abstracts.
